Connect

Classes, choir, church, camp, work, parties, school, uni, On the beach, on holiday, traveling, on planes, trains and buses, in the market, nowhere but walking through everyday life. There is an opportunity to connect with others.

When I think of those fleeting moments. Where I have 'connected' with people throughout the world, across my life I smile. Deep inside me I feel thankful for what I know have been divine encounters.

Some meetings are fleeting. Moments of conversation which live in my soul.

I recall the man on the airplane. As I was heading to a filler job, in a new country with someone Id never met. Nerves fluttered in my tummy. I'd just given up 'a respectable' career with one of the most profitable places in the world. I didn't know what the future held. What was about to happen? All I knew was I'd made my decision & I hoped it was the right one. Quietly I knew it was. Outwardly I was petrified

This stranger & I had an intense conversation. Thrown together on a plane for a limited period. He told me of his illness & his braces with death, his family, his hopes, his dreams & I listened. This highly successful professional man needed someone to talk to. I didn't say much but I remember him saying to me.

'Nicky it will work out. You are creative, beautiful & able to ride this adventure. Don't give up your dreams.' and with that we left the airplane.

A tiny connection. A profound statement.

There are many more stories like this in my life & yours too. Just look for them & smile.
