How are you thinking today?

Today as I continue to prepare for one of the biggest events in my families lives I think in pictures. Seeing things imaging how they could be, thinking about the spaces I am working with.

Everything is in colour. Everything is in image.

How are you thinking today?

That's it for now ...

Faded Glory

Shadows of their faded glory, show how stunning tulips can be even when they begin to wither. Attracted by their shape, vibrancy, form and colour, I chose them for this week's P52.  Head over to Darcy's blog and show me what you have been shooting.

Now to today's Five Minute Friday - Real - I am linking this to yesterday's post - Who I'm I - this is my list

ME

I chase light

I look for shadows

Loving to be in creation

Interaction

I walk, and run, dream, and leap

Organiser

I hope, and find beauty in the dawn, and dust

The dusk, and the twilight, the ever changing light

I see your heart

I love that the first thing you did was create

And, that you gave me creativity

Vision

Wisdom

A friend, an explorer, a dreamer,

I shine

I hold you in my heart, and I listen

Every morning, every moment, I love to listen to you voice

I marvel at the wonders of your creation - I celebrate you the creator,

Creative

I am a warrior

I fight

You are my healer

Pain that defined me has been broken

I claim your promises for my life - I call them forth

I refuse to be trapped by my past,

I remember that I am free

I make the choice to live in freedom

Freedom

I speak, I talk, I reach out

Walking every day, each step into your inheritance

I share

Loving life, adoring people

I seek company, but I adore solitude

Animals bring me endless joy

I choose JOY

Prayer is as essential to me as breath

You are my inhale, and exhale, my YHWH

YHWH what I say with every breath

I fly, I hope, I speak

For you I am a storyteller

Hoping, trying to bring - your love, your hope, your conversation in all I do, to all I meet

I want to be a hope walker

Prophetic, you have made me a seer

I seek your wisdom, and test the waters, and words

I speak

I sing

Worship

I dedicate again my work to you, may my work give people an opportunity to meet with you, exactly where they need to

I am FREE

You fought for my freedom - you gave it to me freely, because you are a lover

You walk beside me as I fight to walk in that freedom

You hold my hand, guide my walk

Holding your dreams so incredible, so magnificient in my hands, I say thank you

I hope I don't let you down

I hear your words

I read your words, I long for your word

I commune with nature

Stretching I find your peace, as I move my body

Running

I feel your pleasure when I write

You are my vision, my hope, the owner of my heart

Imagination

A sister, a friend, I dream of being a wife, a mother, a Granny

A writer

published

You are my resting place - ever present in my moments

I am your Queen, your daughter, your beloved

Your girl,

Colour

Anointed

Holy

You fill me up

Conquer

Breakthrough

FREEDOM

I have strength, I have power, I have resources, I have community - all because of you

You are my alpha and omega, my everything

I look for your perspective

I lay my life at your feet

I grasp your hand, and I walk into our future

Through you I can do all things

I inhale, I exhale

YHWH

What colours allow you to breathe?

My friend Sheridan, who writes an aweome blog at the southern eclectic, that you just have to check out, and read everyday, go leave her a comment - asked this question on her blog on Monday -

"What color comes to mind when you try to picture something soothing?"

Her question got me thinking about the importance of colour, and what it means to us, as people.  How colours can soothe, can ignite, can calm, can fire, can relax, can inspire, can rejuvenate, can depress, can capture, can emote, can sparkle, can damper, can lift, can dispair.

Colour gives me vision.  It is essential in my world. I am inspired by it on a daily basis.  It captures my imagination, it builds my dreams, it gives life to my planet.  It brings vitality to my work.

Colour - is part of my DNA.

To answer Sheridan's question - light aquas, turquoise, pale sea blues - soothe my mind.  They are the place I go to, as I prepare for speaking engagements, live television, photoshoots, broadcasts; when I get ready to take a step out, where anything can happen, at any moment.

This photograph, that I took in early Autumn, calms me when I look at it. The bright turquoise of the door, catapulted behind the light fragile flower petals, a stem that holds droplets of water, the hint of yellow, blend together to form an image that let's my mind breathe.

Building on Sheridan's theme, I'd love to know, what photographs or colours allow you to breathe?

That's it for now ...

Christmas Colour - Five Minute Friday

A Christmas Robin, sitting in our vegetable patch

As I prepare to dress my house for Christmas I look forward to the coloured lights twinkling in my home. I never ever tire of the beauty of these little lights.  In fact I keep fairy lights strung up in my library all year long, bringing glimpses of light, to the spines of my books.  I love the colour of Christmas.  It brings warmth, and joy.

Outside branches hang bare, but if you look closely the garden is alive with colour.  Robins their red breasts puffed out, nibble on birdseed, and sit quietly on spade handles.  Robins are definitely one of my favourite birds, and I can while away moments, just watching them playing outside my kitchen window.

Green sprouts push through in our vegetable patches.  Trucks of carrots, leeks and parsley freshly picked ready for cooking swing from gardeners arms. Holly Berries punch red through frozen snow.  Silver frost lighting up paths, and twigs as it glistens in the moonlight.  Fir trees shimmer in the dawn's early light and evergreens are laden with fircones.

The bright colours of the decorations hanging on the tree.  The rich greens of the pine, spruce, holly, ecalyptus, and laurel that deck my halls.  The rich red of cranberry sauce.  The scarlet of the holly berries.  The milky white of the mistletoe.  The golden star on top of my tree.  The deep browns of a glazed turkey, and little cocktail sausages.  The golden crispy roast potatoes.  The silver of my reindeer that sit atop the mantle.  The vibrant orange of the tangerines, my favourite Christmas fruit.  The pink of roast ham, studded with little black cloves, and glazed with honey.  The sparkle of the snow, as it crunches under my feet.  The ruby of the glasses of wine, or the glittery pale gold of a drop of bubbly.  Jewel like cranberries provide a pop of colour to sticky sausages.  The glow of the embers in the fireplace, and the flickering light of candles in bell jars, that provide a pretty glow to the room.

Even carols are full of colour to me, as the reasonance of voices singing in harmony lift our souls in unison.

Even Baby Jesus was surrounded by colour - Gold, Frankinsene and Muir.

Christmas colour comes not just from the wonders of the decorations, or the food.  It comes from being surrounded by family and friends.  People who colour our lives.  It comes from laughter, and sharing.  Giving and receiving.  Singing and storytelling.

Christmas Colour - I love it in all its forms, and shapes - I antipicate it with great excitement every year.

What are your favourite Christmas Colours?

This Friday I am linking up with The Gyspy Mama, and Five Minute Friday - head over there and share your Five minutes.

That's it for now.

Who colours your world?

Who colours your world?

My Mum sent me an email forward recently, this was the first picture in it.  Isn't it fun, it immediately made me smile.  Mum said that that I coloured her world - what an honour and a privilege.  I am tremendously blessed by an amazing Mum, who showers me with love, asks me tough questions, supports my dreams and encourages me.  Mum you colour my world too.  Love you.

Lavender - Breathe 13

The scent of Lavender will always be my favourite fragrance.  I love its fresh sweetness, and how it soothes the most frayed of nerves.  I nearly always have a bottle of Lavender essential oil in my bar.  Look at the picture today, find your space, and breathe, imagine the heady scent of lavender feels, and that feeling of calmness surrounding you.

That's it for now ...
