Priorities

Today, I had lunch with a good friends. It was good. I loved seeing the girls.  

Just to hang out, laugh, eat some yummy food, and listen to each other.  Connect, and just spend some time with each other.  My friend's bring colour to my life.

As we chatted, we talked about organising, and sorting our stuff.  How easy it was to let things pile up, to be dealt with at another time.  I have some stuff right now that needs to be dealt with - clean laundry that needs put away.

The laundry has moved several times in this past week from the laundry to my room.  But its never quite made it into my closet, instead its hung out, on my dressing table, my bed, and right now its resting on my easy chair.

As I told the girls about this, Jen said to me 'Well, it just hasn't been a priority for you to put away.'  I laughed and agreed with her.

As I walked back to my car I pondered that thought, that idea of priorities.  Why we do things, and why we do them in a certain order, why some things we do immediately, and others can wait days, even weeks before we tackle them.  Why do we do things in the order we do...

It really does come down to priorities.  We make choices every hour of everyday, some things we deal with instantly, others we put on the back burner.  

As I thought about this idea of priorities, I realised that having lunch with the girls was a priority to me.  Just hanging out with them, hearing what was happening with them, sharing food, sharing time, sharing life.  It was wonderful, it was important, it was essential.

And, I am so thankful for the opportunity.  I am so thankful for my friends, what a joy it was to spend time with them.  Thank you girls for a great lunch, I'm already looking forward to our next one.

Spending time with our friends is just fantastic, and I really want to encourage you that no matter what's going on in life, no matter how busy, make time for friends, make your friends your priority.  You will never regret it.  Go on give a pal a call and make plans to have lunch, it will be the best phonecall you made all day. Go on, let your friends bring colour to your life..
