New Self-Portrait:  “We”

Today's guest post comes from Jennifer Camp, a seer and hearer, who writes the most beautiful letters to us girls from the Father.  Each and everytime I read her blog I feel like God speaks directly to me.  I cannot wait to meet her in person.

Over to Jennifer ...

New Self-Portrait:   “We”

What does it mean to be vulnerable to You, Father?  You know my all, the make of my heart, each detail of my frame.   You watch me, guard me when I sleep, shepherd me when I wake.  You offer Your hand to grasp, to hold on to with all of my strength.  You say, "Courage, be courageous!  I am present with you!  There is no need to fear!"  You do not leave my side and remind me that no matter what I do, where I go, it is just about the two of us, together.  There is nothing else.

You lead me this morning to the angel's words to Daniel, when You came for him:  "Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words" (10:12).  My words.   What do my words look like, Father?  I do humble myself before You, desiring nothing to separate us.  I confess I look outside Your gaze upon me often, looking for, I don't even know what, validation from this world?  How can I gain strength -- be courageous -- through looking to anything, anyone, but You?

Come for my heart.  Make me clean in this place of mud and confusion.   Release me from the trappings of this place; release me from the lies that tell me I am not good enough unless I receive praise from this world. What is that in me, Father?  What do I seek outside of You?

And then Your whispers. Let them penetrate our hearts, for all your girls to hear:

You seek the hand of others to hold.  How can they hold you up?  What gives them strength?  What house will you build, on what foundation will you stand?  My hand in yours is your rock.  I do not falter, child.  My eyes are on you; fix your gaze on Me.  Our eyes locked, our hands grasped.  I do not let go.

Beloved, adored, I do not run away.  My love is not conditional.  I give you what you need.  There are no mistakes here.  Yes, just us two.  Remember child, no matter where we go, what we do, it is about the word we.  Do not go alone.   A hand held out to the world for strength is a hand held to nothing but air. There is no we there.  That is the emptiness, the fear.  That is not where I reside.  In your heart, I paint on you My canvas, the truest picture of you to see.  It is not a solitary portrait.  It is one of the two of us, eyes locked, hands clasped.  My eyes on you, your eyes on Me.  I see you, child, adored.  You are not meant to be alone.

There is the word.  We.  That is the word I long my heart to sing.  That is the word that gives me strength.  Only in my hand clasped in Yours do I have hope, strength, courage, beauty, peace, trust, patience, love.

Father, I reject the other image, the false portrait of me alone, looking out, seeking strength outside of the two of us.  I move into this new portrait, the one you want me to see.  There.  I can see it now, Father.  We.

Can you see it, friends? This new portrait always before you -- an invitation to be strengthened by Him alone -- Him grasping your hand, never, ever, letting go?
